Magisters, a leading international CIS based law firm has been listed in The Lawyer European 100 annual report. This London publication, recognized as the leading information source amongst lawyers across the globe, today issued its first ever report listing the top grossing law firms on the continent. Magisters is only CIS-wide firm to be listed in this prestigious report.
The publication states that Magisters' 2009 revenues were Euro 22 million. The firm has a staff of 200 employees, 100 lawyers, and 13 partners in its offices in Kyiv, Moscow, Astana, Minsk and representative office in London. Magisters is listed 81st in the list of firm revenues and 19th in the revenue per partner list.
In the report Tom Phillips, The Lawyer European editor writes: ‘One definite trend and only something a project like the European Top 100 can reveal is how much larger and more international continental law firms have become. While the established markets in France, Germany Spain and Italy have thrived in recent years growing off the back of Europe's booming economies, it is the emerging markets of Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), Russia and the CIS where the biggest changes have come for lawyers.'
‘I am delighted that Magisters has been recognized a top 100 law firm in Europe. I would like to thank all of our 200 employees for achieving this. 2009 was a challenging year for many of our markets and our ambitious expansion strategy with the opening of new offices and hiring the best lawyers in the region is proving excellent results,' commented Dmitry Dyakin, Magisters' Council of Partners Member.
