Magister & Partners Expands Global Reach
Magister & Partners is growing quickly and expanding its capacity to respond to client needs around the world. As part of that effort, it has taken a number of recent steps that significantly strengthen its international capacities.
MAGISTERS USA LAUNCHED
In the US, Magister & Partners has announced the creation of Magisters USA, to serve as the firm's representative office in the US and coordinate public and government relations for clients. Magisters USA will provide the firm with a presence in the important North American market. Magisters USA will enhance the law firm's global reach by serving as a link to clients as well as to potential clients in North America who have an interest in entering the complex, but lucrative, Russian and Ukrainian markets.
CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER NAMED
Meanwhile, the international mix of Magister & Partners senior management team has been strengthened with the appointment of Jason Bruzdzinski as chief operating officer. Mr. Bruzdzinski, a political scientist and systems engineer, hails from the U.S. think-tank Mitre Corporation.
SENIOR ADVISOR IN RUSSIA
In Russia, the firm has made another big-name hire, appointing leading academic Sergey Karaganov as a senior adviser to assist clients in growing their businesses in Russia. Karaganov specializes in Russian foreign and defense policies, as well as in the economic aspects of Russia's relations with other European countries. He is head of Russia’s private Council for Foreign and Defense Policy, is a member of the Russian Ministry of Defense's public council, and serves as a member of the international advisory board of UniCredit Group.
TWO PARTNERS, PREVIOUSLY WITH ROSNEFT AND NESTLE, HAVE JOINED THE FIRM
John Patrick Ryan, previously Counsel at Russin & Vecchi LLP and Legal Director at Nestle Food LLC, has joined Magister & Partners' M&A and Corporate Practice. Meanwhile, Andrey Shevchenko, previously Legal Director at Rosneft, Russia's largest oil company, will add strength and depth to the firm's growing expertise in oil and gas, litigation, and corporate law. Both Partners will work in Moscow.
